On the NY DREAM Act and Bourgeois Legislative Process

On Monday, March 17, the NY State Legislature once again failed to pass the NY DREAM Act, a small reform that would have opened TAP to undocumented students in the state of New York.

The efforts of the activist involved in this campaign accounted for nothing in the face of dubious political interests characteristic of the bourgeois legal system. It is more important for politicians to get elected by their local constituencies than to look over the interests of all peoples.

However, such defeat opens doors for us revolutionaries to further play out the contradictions between the people and the oppressive state. Immigrants in New York City, being an important part of the proletarian masses of the city
