Ron McGuire has been a part of the struggle to liberate CUNY for the people for decades now, giving his time, energy and dedication to the struggle for the liberation of oppressed. From being on the side of Black and Puerto Rican students during the 1969 strike, to defending CUNY activists throughout the 80’s and 90’s, up to today- Ron McGuire has helped many generations of young revolutionaries to fight for liberation. He has taken up struggle in the courts to defend students from the legal codes of the ruling class that penalize those who are ready to take up revolutionary struggle.

Ron McGuire is the People’s Lawyer, and after many decades of serving the people he now needs us to come to his defense. On April 11th, Ron McGuire will make the case in court for CUNY to pay him attorney’s fees for his many years of service. If he does not win this case, Ron will not be able to retire despite being in his 70s. Ron has defended the RSCC in our time of need during moments of intense repression, and we are now calling on people to mobilize and support him by appearing at his hearing in order to make it known to the court how much support the People’s Lawyer has.
